Prom Make-up Ideas

With prom season coming up, (maybe already here for some girls), the stress begins! What shoes, accessories, date, and nevertheless, makeup will you be wearing on the night you'll never forget? One thing about prom that I've noticed is that people think the dress you wear is very crucial, which I agree with, but so is your makeup. It enhances your natural beauty,  either drastically and very minimally, but still does the job in enhancements. This night is supposed to be fun, beautiful, and unforgettable so why not make sure YOU look fun, beautiful and unforgettable.
I came up with some eye makeup ideas that can fit all kinds of people with all kinds of skin tones and face shapes. My beautiful models are my sister, Julissa and my two cousins Irlanda and Karyn.

This is Julissa, before and after:

Last but not least, Irlanda's before and after:
Irlanda's makeup closeup:

All of these looks are pretty dramatic, I would say. Julissa's look (first look) is just a black fading out to dark brown smokey eye with glitter. It kind of looks like a clear night sky, which would be beautiful on someone that's a little lighter than her with very light eyes. Of course, it isn't limited to just that kind of person, but it's just where I think it would look awesome. But still, can be pulled off by any body. I also did her face makeup with a defined bronzer.

Karyn's look (second look) is a little more subtle. It doesn't include any black like the other two, other than the black liquid liner. It reminds me of a mermaid/ ocean theme and colors. It's a beautiful color combination and the glitter and the end of the wing really adds to the already beautiful colors. She did her own face makeup.

Irlanda's look (last look) is way more dramatic. It's an extended smokey eye with a gold stand out color in the center of her lids. These two colors were very messy to use, but with enough blending it came out looking beautiful. She did her own face makeup.

Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or requests please let me know.

My Top Ten Beauty Products!

Hiii!
I haven't written much on here because I couldn't think of anything to write about that would be actually entertaining to read but, I thought about it and I decided to make a list of my top ten beauty products that I would repurchase over and over again until something else that works just as well, can take its place.
I'm going to do this in order from 10-1, 10 being the least favorite as compared to number 1, but still my favorite; otherwise it wouldn't be on here- obviously.

10. Equate Beauty Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I used to use the Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes and then I found this amazing product. Don't get me wrong, the Neutrogena wipes work AMAZING and I would completely recommend them but they're a little bit on the pricey side- for me at least. It's about $8 for a pack that usually lasts up to 2-3 weeks. I got this at Walmart right next to the Neutrogena wipes and it was only $3. I bought this around the second week of December and I'm like halfway through the bottle. I use the cotton rounds to take off any eye makeup and it removes it completely. I think it works almost like the Neutrogena makeup remover but not exactly. Regardless though, I thought it was a steal and it's a great product to use.

9. NARS lipstick- Afghan Red

This is my go to lipstick at the moment. It's such a beautiful cranberry color and it isn't too deep. I'm a little afraid to go too deep because that's very risky and if it doesn't look good I'll look like an idiot. I have Diva from Mac and it's a much deeper color. It's a really really pretty color it's almost a darker hue of this color. But anyways, this color is beautiful at this time of year. It's a little mystical but still very classy. I like to mix it with bright pinks or maybe even red and it looks awesome on me. I love it so much. The only thing about this lipstick is that it's $26. I think that's a little expensive for a lipstick but that's just my opinion!

8. Benefit Cosmetics - Hoola Bronzer

I never really used bronzer until my cousins and my sister started to get obsessed over it. My sister bought the Two Faced Sun Bunny at first and it looked really nice on her. The only thing I didn't like was that it was shimmery and I don't like shimmer on my face. This bronzer is matte and it's very light so I think it's absolutely perfect. It was $28 and I got it in September and I still have a lot of the product left. It's great I love it a lot. I've gotten a lot of compliments on how it looks on me and I tend to get a big head. I love when products like these make me feel awesome.

7.  Urban Decay - Naked Basics

SELF EXPLANATORY WHY IT'S AWESOME! I prefer matte eyeshadows rather than shimmery because there's less fallout and it looks better. I feel like you can do so much more with matte colors especially with this palette because it's neutral colors that you can either a dramatic or natural look. Also, it could be used to fill in your eyebrows and maybe even contour places like your nose. I've never tried contouring my nose but I have filled in my eyebrows with it. I think it works just as well as eyebrow products. Love this. Totally worth the price.

6. Buxom - Amplified Lash Mascara

I already wrote a blog post about why this mascara is the best mascara in the universe. You can see it here.

5. Benefit Cosmetics - Erase Paste

I'm a concealer freak. I own a thousand different concealers and nothing works. I have really bad dark circles. They're purple and red and not pretty so I need the best concealer to cover up. Erase Paste works really well at doing that. The only downside to this product is that it goes into my fine lines which sucks but I love the coverage. It's really thick but on the face it doesn't feel heavy.

4. L'Oreal - True Match Concealer

Like I said I own a thousand different concealers. I use both this concealer and the Erase Paste. The Erase Paste to cover the purpleish colors and then I use this one to match my skin tone a little better because the Erase Paste is a little too light. It does miracles to my eyes. It brightens and makes my face look great and like I actually slept!

3. Sigma - F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

My cousin gave me this for christmas and I love it. I'm never going back to my Mac stippling brush to apply my foundation. It gives me almost airbrushed finished and it doesn't leave any streaky marks. I love this brush it's awesome! When people say Sigma brushes are really good, they mean it. This is my first Sigma brush and when I can, I'm making sure I'm getting more.

2. Benefit- Porefessional Primer

Everyone who knows about beauty products knows this is a great primer. It minimizes pore sizes and it gives you a flat canvas to apply the rest of your makeup. I don't have large pores but my mom does and I tried this on her and it made such a difference to when she just applies her foundation compared to with the primer then foundation. It gives a very silky feel and it goes on very smooth to the face.

1. Neutrogena - Foundation

All time FAVORITE PRODUCT! It matches perfectly to my skin color and it's so light on the skin it's so perfect. It doesn't make me break out and it's a drugstore brand. I'm not one to splurge on a foundation because I'm not really crazy about foundation I just use it to even out my skin tone so drugstore foundation works for me, but this is like my soulmate. I don't think I'm going to change my foundation anytime soon, it's the love of my life.

Those are my top ten beauty products. I hope you enjoyed reading, if you didn't, I'm sorry. If you have any questions or comments feel free to reply.

Blessings xoxo

Holiday Makeup

Hey I'm baaack!
I was playing around with my makeup today and I did a holiday look but it's also wearable for an everyday look. It was inspired by itsjudytime on youtube. She usually does a brown smokey eye kind of look and I used what she did and made it my own, sort of. This is my look:

What's great about these color is that they're so neutral and so easy to use that it looked so beautiful. I have green/hazel eyes and browns and gold colors really make my eye color pop. I absolutely love my eye color and I love to show it off as many ways as I can. I use contacts and avoid using my glasses to avoid hiding my eyes, I use colors like these so the color could be brighter and I use my special and amazing mascara to make my eyes more noticeable. I don't mean to brag but just like the saying, if you've got it, flaunt it. I was blessed with a beautiful eye color so I love to show it off!

What I did to get this look was I used my three Urban Decay palettes. First I used Venus and Foxy from the Naked Basics all over my lid. Then I took Naked 2 and Faint from the same palette and blended it in my crease and upwards and out. If that makes sense?

Anyways, I used Snakebite from the Naked 2 palette on top of the Naked 2 and Faint to darken it up but very lightly. I also used it above that to blend it all together and not have any harsh lines. I also used a little tiny bit of the black on top of the darker colors just to give it a smokey effect, but it really wasn't much. The black is very pigmented so I had to be very careful with how much I used.

Then using my finger, I used Honey on the center on my lid from an Urban Decay palette I don't know the name of. It doesn't have a specific name. I used my finger because it's much easier application and it saved me the work of wetting it on the brush and then on my lid.

It brought more color and dimension to the colors being used. I love this look and I'm probably, most likely going to wear it on Christmas because it's just gorgeous and it's so festive as well.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, thank you for reading.

Mascara!

I've gone through a lot of mascaras, countless, I can't even begin to tell you how many I've tried, how many I've liked and how many I've hated. I used to use drugstore mascaras only because I didn't know much about higher end brands and I didn't want to spend $20+ on a really good mascara. I used Maybelline's Falsies for a little bit over a year and it really wasn't so bad. Obviously cause I used it for so long, but after a while I felt like the effect wasn't as I wanted it to be. It did give me volume, but what I needed was length. I still do, my lashes are short and straight so there's not much I can do with them and I need a product that will define them and make them appear longer.
I also tried the POP smokey eye mascara, and I absolutely hated it. The product built up mostly on the wand then on my lashes and what ever actually was on my lashes, there was fall out that by the end of the day I had panda eyes. It looked like I rubbed my eyes but all it was, was just the mascara. It ruined my look and my makeup and it was absolutely terrible.
Finally, though, I found my savior. I casually walked into Sephora to look around and an employee asked me if I needed anything, as usual, and I asked her about mascaras that weren't too expensive and worked really well. She showed me They're Real by Benefit, but I didn't want to get it. I've heard great reviews and all but I didn't want to get that, I wanted to try something different. So she showed me Buxoms' Amplified Lash Mascara. I considered it, took it home and it was AMAZING. It looked like I was wearing fake lashes and I was so happy I found such a good product worth the price. It was $22.50, and I know I said I didn't want to get anything over $20, but it was so worth it. Since then I buy it, over and over. I love it, I can't even begin to tell you how great it is.
I always have to curl my lashes, so I curl them first using my Revlon lash curler. I put two coats of this mascara on, I don't even need two, my lashes look great with just one, but I love defined lashes. This mascara makes my lashes longer, gives it volume and it doesn't clump at all. What's awesome about it too, is that at the top there's a twist and you can shorten your wand or make it longer, I prefer the longer wand. The bristles go in between your lashes and separates them one by one to make your lashes look fuller. It does not fall out through the day and it stays on all day long. It makes your eyes bigger and look absolutely beautiful. The voluminous effect and length brings new but amazing dimension to not only your eyes, but your face. Buxom's Amplified Lash Mascara is one of the best mascaras and I completely recommend it to every girl who has problem with finding the perfect mascara. It would also be a perfect stocking stuffer! It may not work the same with everyone, but I assure you, you'll see a difference.

I just picked up a new one yesterday because the last one I had ran out already. I love this product on my lashes and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great, long lasting mascara. It adds drama to your eyes and a little bit of a cat eye at the end. It's gorgeous, I love it.

Hello!! I hope you're doing well :)
About a week ago I ordered a couple things on amazon for my laptop and to get free shipping I needed to spend $10 more, so I decided to get a nail polish. I was specifically looking for a plum/wine color by OPI. I swear to you, I found the most perfect color, the name didn't come up so I can't even tell you which nail polish it was. All I can say is that it was absolutely gorgeous. Anyways, I added that to my cart and I had enough for free shipping, and I received my package yesterday. I open it all excited to do my nails and everything, but when I opened it, I got this.

Obviously, it's not a plum/wine color and this was not what I ordered. I went on amazon and I tried to contact the seller, but it didn't even have that option. I got so angry, but I settled with what I had. I'm not much of a blue sparkly kind of girl. I like colors like yellow, pink, reds, wine, grays etc. Not really blue, green, purples so when I got this nail polish I got a little upset. So I went to put it on and surprisingly, I loved it. On the tag, it said it dries matte, which confused me because it's supposed to be sparkly, I thought that was a little contradicting. I did two coats and as it dried, I realized it started to dry matte and it had texture to it. It's the OPI liquid sand nail polish and I never heard of these nail polishes. It's gorgeous though! I didn't need top coat because, obviously, I wanted it to stay matte. I really love this nail polish. Its name is Get Your Number by OPI, as I already said. I love the texture it has, it feels like sand and it's just really awesome. The color is very opaque and the blue isn't too dark or too light. It's just about right. I never really get OPI nail polish just cause it's a little too pricy for me and I prefer Maybelline's Color Show or the L'Oreal nail polishes. Those are my two favorite brand, but because of this nail polish, I might just buy other colors that come with the liquid sand collection. I know I've said it a million times, but it's seriously so gorgeous and beautiful. I guess it as a blessing in disguise because it made me so happy! I totally recommend this nail polish for anyone who's looking to buy a nail polish and have no idea what to get. It's worth the price, it's a beautiful color, and it looks great matte and sparkly. This is what it looks like on my nails. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it. Have a beautiful day <3

Who am I? What am I doing here? Why am I here?

Hey! How nice of you to check out my blog :) My name's Lisbeth and I want to put my input on the world of makeup and beauty . I want my opinions to be heard as well as my creations to be seen from different people.

The point of this blog is to entertain people like you, with my witty comments and opinions on products that I've used or haven't used. I want to do reviews and give people a chance to maybe take my opinions into consideration before buying a product. I know that I go onto blogs or just google reviews on certain products because I don't know whether or not it's a good buy or I should leave it. I'm sure there's many more like me.

Also, I like to consider myself a makeup artist. I'm still an amateur but I've been doing it for about 3 years now and I haven't really had the chance to show others my talent other than my cousins and my friends. I've never done makeup outside of that circle, but I want to show others what I'm capable of. I will be posting makeup looks I've done on myself or on others, and please feel free to criticize (not too harshly though ): ) and give your opinions. If you like it or not, it's perfectly fine, I love to hear things that will motivate me to improve my work.

I have a love and passion for makeup and fashion and I love to share my opinions, which is why I created this blog. This blog will most likely be more of reviews and makeup, but I'll throw some fashion in there just to show people who I am and what kind of style I have; maybe inspiring others on what to wear or something, you know ;) If you enjoy my blog please feel free to follow it, comment, follow me on instagram, twitter, pinterest, and anything else you please to follow me on. Hey, you could even follow me home. Just kidding. :D But anyways, I want this blog to be very interactive and I want to interact with everyone who comments and finds interest in my blog. Thank you so much!
